ALL GARDENERS MEETING AND WORKDAY - February 23

The All Gardeners Meeting will start at 10am at the garden trailer.
Come find out the latest on the Spring Plant Sale.

The Workday will start after the meeting from about 11am until 1pm. Please meet at the garden trailer to help spruce up the garden site before the Plant Sale next week. Mary Gifford, Cheryl Hazeltine, and Luda Voskov will be coordinating the efforts.

SPRING PLANT SALE - March 2 - Volunteers Needed

Don't forget the our Annual Plant Sale will be held March 2, 2013. There is still time to sign up to be a volunteer. Also there are several
tasks to be done before and after the plant sale.

On the day of the sale there are two shifts:

  • AM from 8:30-11:30 and
  • PM from 11:30 to 2:30

However, the scheduling can be flexible. Work the entire day, or for a few hours that overlaps the AM-PM shifts.

Please contact Ila Falvey (ila.falvey@gmail.com) to sign up, and let her know the hours you want to work. Or, sign in on the signup sheets in the trailer.

SPRING PLANT SALE - March 2 - Boxes Needed

We need a large supply of flat boxes for our customers to carry transplants in. Please start collecting any that you have around your house and bring them to the trailer.

COMPOST AREA

The compost area was cleaned up this past week.

We now have 4 rows from west to east for different types of plant materials:

  • Row 1: Leaves
  • Row 2: Bark and wood chips
  • Row 3: Produce waste from groceries, coffee grounds, and plant waste from gardens that is readily compostable
  • Row 4 (nearest to the fence): Weeds, whole plants from garden plots, and small sticks, material that is eventually compostable

There is also an area for brush from our gardens. It's the pile in the back, closest to the southeast corner.
