Calling all Gardeners - Annual Plant Sale

Saturday March 5th

9:00 am - 2:00 pm

This is our most important fund raiser and requires many gardeners to swing into action to help with all of the preparations and activities during and after the plant sale.

Important Reminders for this week

• Make sure the garden is locked up every night. We have thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that we can't afford to loose.
• It's not too late to volunteer to help. Volunteer Opportunities - There are still openings!
  • Shift 1 - 8:30 am - 11:30 am
  • Shift 2 - 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
    
• Your volunteer time will fulfill service hours. Use this link to see where there are openings. If you have any questions contact Ila at Ila.falvey@gmail.com.
• There will be a special delivery for Micah 6 on Thursday afternoon this week. Please place your bagged offerings in the refrigerator or the cool room before 2:30 pm on Thursday. There will NOT be a delivery on Saturday this week due to the plant sale. Don't let your produce go to waste - donate. If you are interested in helping as a planter, harvester or delivery person, contact Mary Gifford at mgifford@austin.rr.com or 512-453-9742.

Presale Activities

Boxes needed for Plant Sale

Next time you go to the store get some empty boxes. Bring them to the trailer for use the day of the sale.

Tuesday:

• 10:00 am - Delivery from Gabriel Valley.

Wednesday:

• 10:00 am - Delivery from Gabriel Valley. We expect 2 deliveries.
• Herbs will be moved between the two deliveries from Gabriel Valley
• 3:00 to 7:00 pm Sustainable Food Center Farmers Market at the Triangle. Hand out postcards and talk about the plant sale to customers. Please contact Kathleen Cobb kgc@tx-lobby.com or call 512-656-3233 for more information.

Thursday:

• General cleanup including trailer.
• Delivery from Gabriel Valley in the morning 10 AM
• Readying of the pass-alongs

Friday:

• Compost arrives, around noon. Compost bagging begins.
• Vendor move-in
• 4:00 pm - No cars allowed in the parking lot.
• 4:30 - 5:00 pm - All Hands Meeting
• 5:00 PM - Sale volunteers purchase plants & T-Shirts - Cost $10

Saturday:

• 6:30 am Early Volunteers arrive
• 7:00 - 8:30 am Last of the vendor move-in
• 8:30 Regular volunteers arrive - park in state parking lot. no cars allowed Either wear a Sunshine Shirt or a tie (provided) to identify yourself.
• 9:00 am - 2:00 pm - SALE!
• 2:00 pm Relocate all remaining plants to our greenhouse.

Sunday:

• 9:00 am - 2:00 pm unofficial plant sale
• No cars allowed in the parking lot.
