The 2019 Annual Plant Sale
Early indications are that we did quite well in spite of the weather. We had almost 2000 visitors and very few unhappy customers. Planning for the plant sale goes on all year. As we got closer to the first Saturday in March, you saw the emails appealing for help. You'll see them again.
The day of the sale went smoothly because of our leads for the cashiers, compost, herbs, vegetables, passalongs, food and music. Then there are those of you who collected boxes, brought food to share, cleaned up your own plots. For those who contributed, please take credit for a successful sale.
Thank you to all who made it happen. Only 51 weeks until the plant sale. March 7, 2020.

"The Soil Food Web, Low-Till Gardening and Soil Micro-nutrients"
I have been at Sunshine almost 19-years. For the past 6-years I have been investigating and using "low-till", soil-microbiome preservation and enhancement techniques, with great success. This is often called in the literature "The Soil Food Web" or "No Till Farming."
I want to share what I have learned (45-minute presentation and demonstration) and then open the floor for questions and comments from others at SCG who are using low-till methods.
RSVP very strongly encouraged. If I do not get at least 4 people with a firm RSVP - the session will not take place. Appreciate your commitment!

Jack McEvoy found these baskets to purchase online which require a minimum order of 12 baskets. If you are interested in getting a basket - contact Jack. He says with shipping, the baskets will still be under $10.00 a piece. He also says they are very sturdy and convenient.
