Trailer Open for Limited Use
Hello Gardeners!
There has been significant progress on understanding the transmission of COVID-19. Additionally, vaccination rates in Texas and especially Travis County are very good with over 70% of people over 65 having received at least one dose, and over 43% of all Texans over 16 vaccinated. This boils down to over 9.5 million Texans with at least one dose of vaccine. When you combine this with conservative estimates of natural immunity around roughly 4 times the 2. 5 million confirmed cases, and you are approaching 2/3 of the population with either vaccine induced immunity or natural immunity of some kind. All good news.
Because of this progress, the trailer will be open on a limited basis. No more than three people in at any given time. Masks will be required, soap is in the bathroom, wipe down the fixtures after use. There is only one bathroom working at this time, the north one by the office (cold snap). The cold room will be open for produce and people to cool down if overheated.
We are not out of this yet, and things can change but for now we can do this.
Signage will be on the door. Email Steve at steven_uecker@hotmail.com with any questions.
Thanks!

On behalf of TSBVI residential staff and students thank you so much for your generous donation of veggie plants this year! Attached are photos of students planting tomatoes and basil if you would like to include them in the next Weeder along with thanks from us!

Lost Glasses Found - Thank You
Jim Willmann discovered his glasses missing when leaving Sunshine Sunday afternoon. He did not know if he lost at Sunshine or misplaced at home. He searched both locations Sunday and again on Monday. Figuring they were gone, he was surprised to get a call on Tuesday from a Sunshine gardener saying there was a pair of glasses on porch table. Given the description, Jim knew immediately the glasses were his and wishes to thank whoever found them. He is still baffled where he lost them and would love to have the person finding them email him (jhwillmann@gmail.com) where they found the glasses.
FYI. The Sunshine lost and found box is the table in the trailer. Now that trailer is being reopened, if anyone finds something, just leave on the table. Gardeners losing things should check the table. They may be as lucky as Jim.
