Compost Pile Problems at Sunshine
We gardners are forgetting our manners when working in the compost area. According to the hardworking volunteers who manage the compost area for us at Sunshine, Randy Thompson and Janet Adams, "Gardeners have recently dumped so much debris around the HARVEST COMPOST HERE pile that we spent hours gathering and disposing of it." Please be courteous and not make more work our volunteers. Put any non-plant debris that doesn't belong in the compost pile and all khaki weed in the dumpster rather than throwing it aside for Randy or Janet to clean up.

Compost Demonstration: Gather down at the vegetable garden from 6:30 to 7:00 where Forrest will lead a compost demonstration.
Program: George Altgelt, founder and president of Geo Growers, will discuss composting. George has been studying and making soil in Central Texas for over 20 years. Compost is at the heart of organic farming and gardening and between Forrest's hands on demonstration at 6:30 and George's presentation, you'll be learning from the best.

Turkey Compost Coming to Sunshine Next Week
We are expecting a load of Turkey Compost on Wednesday morning, September 12th. The price is $1.00 per bucket for a maximum of 20 buckets per plot. The compost will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
