"Fall Bulb Bloomers" with Yvonne Schneider - Yaupon Garden Club's Monthly Meeting
November 20th, 2019
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Please join us for this month's Yaupon Garden Club meeting with Yvonna Schneider! Yvonne, a Master Gardener, will discuss spring and fall bulb bloomers for our gardens. She will walk us through the basics of planting bulbs and how to propagate them. Yvonne retired in 2016 after 35 years in information technology where her travels exposed her to varying cultures and flora. She loves spending her "free time" outdoors, getting her hands in the dirt and cultivating perennials and annuals. Leveraging her love of gardening and community spirit, Yvonne was certified as a Travis County master gardener in 2018, and enjoys the challenge of rocky soil, drought, and wildlife appetites!
RSVP via Facebook Event.

November 21st, 2019
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Jim Mauseth has been a professor of Botany at the University of Texas at Austin since 1975. His research focuses on the modifications that occurred as the early cacti evolved and diversified to be the wonderful plants we see today. Jim's specialty is plant anatomy, studying the cells and tissues of cacti and comparing them to the equivalent parts of plants that have more ordinary structures typical of non- succulent plants. He has traveled extensively in South America, and is a Fellow of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America.
